A Wee Blue Sweater

Finished another sweater for my Wee Niece. Mostly started this in order to procrastinate on finishing my Scottish Sister's sweater. I've fallen out of love with cables. Loving this little v-neck though. Just a basic bottom-up raglan-shaped v-neck sweater. Totally my favorite kind of sweater and not just because I'm not a fan of sewing. Well, OK; mostly because I'm not a fan of sewing.

Chest measurement is 24 inches which according to the internet should fit a 2 year old. I really wish she lived closer so I could see it on her sooner. I'd also have a better idea of what would fit her if she lived closer. Oh well, maybe someday. Of course, someday she'll be a teenager and probably hate the idea of wearing something her Aunt made for her. Mind, my other Niece and Nephew like the socks I knit them but those are easily hidden in ski boots; plus my Sister won't let them wear them to school on the grounds that you should not wear hand knit socks without shoes while walking around on a school floor. I understand they end up taking their shoes off a lot at school. There is logic there.

Pattern: Improvised bottom-up raglan-shaped
Yarn: Loops & Threads Snuggly Wuggly Big! in Baby Denim Marl
Needle: 4.0mm
Gauge: 21 stitches and 29 rows = 10 cm

Current Weather
26C and mostly cloudy. Imagine how hot it would be if the sun was out.

Because it's cute

Squish went to the vet today to have his blood pressure taken. The joys of getting old.

This is how he decided to wait.......

A Blue Sweater

I finally finished my Whirlpool sweater. Yeah, yeah, yeah; once again I named my project for the yarn colorway. Meh, it works. This one seemed to take an awfully long time but that's only because I kept setting it aside to work on other projects. Mostly things for my Wee Niece so it was a sacrifice I was willing to make.

I used what I learned making Hazelnut to adjust the fit of this one a bit. Made the body a little longer, the sleeves a little looser, and the neck a little deeper. Loving it so far, suspect I will wear it a lot.

Pattern: Bottom-Up Seamless Raglan Yoke Percentage Sweater as per EZ
Yarn: Knit Picks Palette in Whirlpool
Gauge: 31 stitches and 37 rows = 10 cm
Needle: 2.75mm

I still need to finish my Dad's socks for Father's Day.

And my Sister's Lempster sweater before she comes to visit this summer.

But I started another sweater for my Wee Niece anyway. She's just so darn cute I can't resist.

Current Weather
14C and mostly cloudy. Looking like Spring today. This is a relief considering is snowed most of last week.
