Douglas Fir Sweater

Another fingering weight sweater, these take quite a bit of time but they are worth the labour when the time comes to wear them. I just checked, this one was 70 days from cast on to cast off, I will leave it to you to decide if that's a long time or not.

So far I love it, soft and squishy and not too warm for indoors. The "not to warm" part is becoming more important lately. Sigh.

Other Knitting
Progress continues on my Star Wars Scarf, it's a bit further along than this picture but I am too lazy to take another one right now.

My latest socks have stalled, not enough meetings at work lately I guess. Another wool sweater progresses slowly and I cast on for a t-shirt. Lots on the go as usual.

Now I just need something to watch on Netflix while I knit. I Just finished Lucifer on the weekend and I have no idea what to try next.

Olive Green Sweater

Well, I finished a sweater. I'm just not sure if I like it or not. The colour's great and I like the style but I'm not sure it'll fit. Sigh. I'm going to try something a little different with the same yarn and if I like it better I may go back and re-knit this one. I just want to have sweaters I will wear. Wear out if it comes to that.

We're back to normal with a conservative government back in power in the province. The UCP swept to a huge victory yesterday.

Time Traveler Socks

That's right, the iconic Doctor Who scarf in sock form. Unfortunately, this was a limited time only colourway from Knit Picks and the last time I checked they did not have it any more. Basic socks as per usual, although I don't think I'd want to put a pattern in something so iconic.

Socks & Sweater

Finished a new sweater which I'm loving. Made of fingering weight cotton/acrylic it is super comfortable especially as my office is a bit on the warm side making wool a questionable choice most days. It's a rather plain sweater which is perfect for me as I tend to wear rather plain clothes. I hope I will get many years of wear out of this sweater.

1C and flurries. After the coldest February on record we are getting a bit of a break.

The city says they're expecting a lot of water problems over the next few weeks due to the deep, deep frost. Three meters deep to be precise. Glad I live in a newish neighbourhood.

In Loving Memory

Mouse passed away peacefully at home early last Saturday morning after a brief illness.She was a cat who always did everything with quiet dignity, her passing was no different.  She was 17 years old and would have been 18 if she'd lived to August.

Mouse came to me because Squish was incapable of being an only cat and I think she spent the next 15 years waiting for her chance to be an only cat. It wasn't until after Squish passed that she really came out of her shell; maybe she was just letting him talk for both of them. I will never know.

She loved yarn and used to have great fun stealing my expensive sock yarn, she always chose the most expensive yarn available, so she could pull the ball apart while making blood curdling yowling sounds. She never ate the yarn, she just loved to pull the ball apart and then lie on it so it was so full of cat hair it could hardly be used. She also never chose the cheap acrylic for this unless there was no other yarn to play with.

Rest in Peace little Mouse-cat.
